Kobe is a beautiful dark brindle male boxer who is around 1.5 years old. He was previously adopted from B.A.R.C., but has recently been returned due to reports of jumping on people. We are perplexed by this since in his new foster home he has never jumped on anyone including his foster parents and visitors. He shows no bad habits at all, except if you consider doing the "boxer lean" to try to get pets a bad habit! He is very attentive to his humans and has great manners. He is crate and house trained, knows some basic commands, waits patiently to go outside or come back in until you tell him "ok" and has a calm and sweet demeanor. He is not food or toy possessive, and his foster parents or any of the dogs can simply take his things - as a result we feed him in his crate and he enjoys that.
One of his best qualities, besides being such a gorgeous example of the breed, is that he loves any and all dogs. He gets along famously with our four dogs (males and females of all ages and sizes) and really loves his fellow foster brother Curly (also listed with B.A.R.C. which you can see in the below video) who is also around 2 years old. He loves playing, but doesn't play too rough (just typical boxer style). He will stop playing and calm down if you ask him to. He certainly aims to please his people!
Even though we believe Kobe would be good in any home, because of his reported history with jumping on people, we wouldn't recommend Kobe to go to a home with small children. Also, we feel he would do best in a home with another dog since he really does enjoy playing and having a companion. An active adoptive family would be a plus, and Kobe is perfectly behaved on the leash and would be a great walking or jogging partner. If you are interested in Kobe please fill out an online adoption application. He is being fostered by Dana.
