Harper is a Boxer Terrier mix (aka "shadow Boxer") who lived at one of our shelter partner facilities for five months. She was brought in as a pregnant stray, became ill, and was nursed back to health. She had healthy puppies and was reported as a great mom by the shelter staff. Her foster mom saw her on their website and something about her little face grabbed her foster mom’s heart. “Mom” went out to meet her and found her to be sweet but very shy and withdrawn. What great news that BARC agreed to bring her into program!
Once in her new foster home, she just blossomed immediately into a very happy, well-behaved and quite funny little girl! She weighs between 30-35lbs., is Heartworm negative and will be spayed very soon. She now lives with 5 foster brothers and sisters (3 pugs and 2 boxers) and gets along very well with all of them. She has become the comedian in the family and will get her siblings running and chasing and having a grand old time! She occasionally displays a little toy protection but is very responsive to correction. Once acclimated, she alerted to her foster mom when she needed to go outside. She’s comfortable in her crate and will sleep the entire night without a peep. She’s become a very joyful little addition to her foster home!
